Congolese solar developer Nuru officially inaugurated a 1.3 MW solar system in February 2020 in Goma, becoming Africa’s largest off-grid solar minigrid in operation. The project is the first renewable energy project from which EPP will issue Peace Renewable Energy Credits (P-RECs), and the revenue from their sale will fund the construction of minigrid-connected nighttime streetlights to improve safety and security in the Ndosho neighborhood of Goma.
